🛠️Why I Built Prep2Survive

The Turning Point.

Hi, I’m Shelby Dart.

Yep—Dart, like the car. Married into it. I guess you could say I was built for speed and survival.

But let’s rewind. A few years ago, I was “retired”—whatever that means. Life was good. Then came Stage 4 cancer. Everything stopped. My body, my plans, my confidence. I survived, thank God. But surviving did something else too—it made me think about legacy.

And I didn’t want cancer to be mine.

I needed purpose. Something to shake me out of the fog. Something that mattered. That’s when I realized: the world’s a little nuts (OK, a lot), and most people aren’t ready for even a basic power outage. Not because they’re lazy—but because prepping is usually presented like you’re joining a tactical cult or building a bunker in your backyard.

That’s not me. That’s not most people I know. And that’s definitely not how prepping should be.

So, I built Prep2Survive for us. For the everyday woman. The caregiver. The mom. The dog mom. The smart-but-busy human who just wants to know her family won’t fall apart if the lights go out or the grid gets weird.

And fellas—if you’re vibin' with all this, don’t worry. We’ve got room for you too. And gosh, if you already know this stuff… please share the wisdom. We’re all in this together.

I wanted to create something that makes prepping feel:

  • Smart (not scary)
  • Empowering (not overwhelming)
  • Practical (and yes, maybe a little pink)

Here, you’ll find:

  • Straight-up survival tools that work—and don’t look like you just joined a militia
  • Checklists that make sense (like my 72-Hour Emergency Guide, because yes, you do need a backup charger and clean socks)
  • A Stay Ready Circle that’s inclusive, supportive, and a little bit sassy

I built Prep2Survive because if we’re going to survive the mess of the world (natural disasters, blackouts, zombie raccoons?), we’re gonna do it with wine in our go bag and a plan in our back pocket.

So no, I’m not trying to scare you.

 I’m here to help you

stay ready without going full

 Navy SEAL.

Thanks for being here. Now let’s get your kit together. 💪

I didn’t want my story to end with just “she beat cancer.” I wanted a legacy of strength, purpose, and preparation.

Stay Ready,

Shelby
